Summer 2016 Bucket List

With summer right at my door (one week left you guys!!!), I thought it would be a great idea to kick off my break with my summer 2016 bucket list!

Summer 2016 Bucket List

You know how much I love making list, so I thought this was appropriate. I’ve made summer bucket lists for a few years now, and I absolutely love the idea of planning what I want to do during summer!

GO TO TORONTO

As you might know, I’m going to Toronto with my best friends from cegep from August 8th to August 11th. I’ve never been to that city yet, but I’m so excited! I already booked our hotel a few weeks ago, and we are currently planning our itinerary and activities we want to do while we’re there. I plan on taking lots of pictures of our trip, and I will surely write at least one blog post about it! So if you have any suggestions or recommendations (or if you know of any blog posts about Toronto), please let me know in the comments!

READ 12 BOOKS

As I’ve mentioned on the blog before, summer is the time for me when it comes to reading. Sadly, so far, I haven’t been able to read as much as I wish I could because of my classes, but I’m still pretty surprised with the fact that I’ve managed to read at least 5 books since I’ve started my summer semester! However, my ever-growing list of books I’ve yet to read seems to be calling more and more lately. So, I think reading at least 12 books is pretty realistic, especially if you know me!

WATCH 10 MOVIES

Since I’ve been working more often at the audio-visual counter this summer, I’ve been able to see what people were checking out, and it made me want to watch so many movies! Netflix and Super Écran (a French Canadian premium television service) have also been coming out with a lot of movies I’ve been wanting to watch as well. All of this to say, I feel like watching movies. All I’m waiting for is a rainy day where I have nothing better to do than watch what has been on my movie list! Or maybe I could do a movie night?

FINISH CATCHING UP ON ALL OF MY TV SHOWS

As you know, I watch a lot of TV. But with finals for the spring semester and the beginning of my summer classes, I didn’t have the time to watch the season finales of most of my TV shows. Since then, I’ve finished Quantico and Once Upon A Time, but I still need to watch 2 episodes of The Flash, 3 of Arrow, 3 of Legends of Tomorrow and 5 of Agents of Shield. On top of that, I have two episodes left of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to watch on Netflix, and I’d like to continue watching Suits (I’m halfway through season 2). And I’d like to start watching a new TV show as well…

HAVE A BONFIRE WITH S’MORES

Is there anything that screams summer more than having a bonfire with s’mores? I don’t think so! I put this on my summer bucket list every year, because that the one thing I look forward to the most about summer. I’m never sure I’m going to be able to make it happen, but so far, ever summer I’ve been able to do it! Let’s just hope that this year will be no different…

GO TO THE WATER PARK

I used to go the water park at least once every summer when I was younger, but that’s not something my family has kept over the last few years. There’s one in Bromont – which is like 40 minutes from my house – that’s really fun, but I’d like the opportunity to try a new one! I’m hoping will get at least one very hot day so we can spend it in the water without freezing!

GO STARGAZING

Fun fact about me: I love all things space-related. I wrote a popular science article for one of my classes this semester about light pollution and created a website about stars and constellations for another one of my classes. So it feels pretty natural to me to add stargazing to this list. I’ve never done so before, but that seems like something I would definitely enjoy! Sadly, living in a pretty big city, I don’t get to see the stars much from my house, but I know that if I get a little bit out of town, I would definitely be able to enjoy a better view!

GO TO THE DRIVE-IN MOVIES

Drive-in movies are an experience that I just started enjoying. I went to my first drive-in movies two years ago with my cousin, and I’ve loved it! We watched Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (a Marvel double program, I know!). We went back with my family last year, and I still enjoyed the experience. I’d love to get the opportunity to go back this year!

UNPLUG FOR A DAY

I think that, like most bloggers (or millennials for that matter), I’m glued to my phone and laptop. There is not a day that goes by without me checking my social media, my blog stats or my emails. I’m addicted to that digital world. So, this summer, I would like to take at least a complete day (so from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep). I know it’s going to be hard for me to stay off from my laptop and my iPad for an entire day, but I want to appreciate every moment and make the most out of everything!

BLOGGING PHOTOSHOOT

After reading The Swirl’s post about making your own blogging photoshoot and seeing their rebranding, it made me realize that I needed a much better blogger picture! That’s why I decided that I would try to go on a blogging photoshoot this summer. I need to up my Instagram game and to have a better sidebar picture, so this would be the perfect opportunity to do so!

What do you plan to do with the rest of your summer? What’s on your bucket list?

    • Thank you! And s’mores are one of my favorite things about summer. They’re just SO GOOD!

  • These are great bucket list items! 12 books, wow! I love reading, but I’m such a slow reader. Good luck!

    • Thank you! I’m quite a fast reader, so 12 books seems reasonable for me. Maybe I won’t be able to reach that goal, but I’d like to get some reading done during my time off!

  • Love your Summer bucket list! It’s winter here in Australia at the moment but I’ve been meaning to read more books and watch more movies as well!
