Can you believe this is already my 100th post on A Wanderer’s Adventures?! I sure can’t! I can’t believe I’ve had this little corner of Internet for almost two years. I can’t believe I’ve made it this far! I’ve tried several times to have a blog before, but I never kept it as long and invested in it as much as I did with one. Who would have thought that almost two years later, I would be writing this post? If you had asked me at the very beginning, I would have told you that of course, I would be a super famous blogger (let’s laugh at that for a minute) by now, but deep down, I knew I would probably give this up in a couple of weeks. You have no idea how glad I am that I didn’t give up! A Wanderer’s Adventures has allowed me to make friends with people from all over the world, to express myself in a creative and fun way, and to help thousands of students and young women. I would never have been able to achieve that had I not continued working hard on this blog.
To celebrate my 100th post, I thought I would do a little blogging recap of some of my favorite and best blog posts.
The most fun to write: 6 Things They Don’t Tell You About Living on Your Own
I recently moved to my own apartment and had to stare at adulting in the face. Honestly, when I first started writing this post, I was aiming for something truthful and insightful, something deep that people would relate to. And while I think those two words still define this post, I ended up having fun with it and just be light and breezy. It was the most fun I had writing a post in a while… See for yourself! 😉
Had the most pageviews: 14 Resources Every College Student Needs
This post completely blew my mind. I wrote it back in early January to go with the beginning of the new semester, and I never thought it would take off as it did! It went VIRAL on Pinterest. This is my most repinned post with over 4K repins, and it has brought to this day over 13,000 pageviews, aka the most pageviews a blog post ever had on my blog! It’s the equivalent of roughly 13% of all the traffic this blog ever had! It still brings hundreds of visitors to my blog up to this day.
Had the most comments: How I Grew My Blog’s Traffic
I was looking at my stats a few weeks ago when it hit me: about a year ago, I was struggling to get to 300 pageviews a month on my blog. Now, I get that amount in a day. It’s crazy how so much has changed in only a year… So I spilled my secret and told you how I did it. I guessed you liked knowing how I achieved it because this blog post has over 50 comments, which is the most a blog post of mine has ever gotten. If you’re struggling with gaining traffic or if you have any specific question about blogging, head over to this post and leave me a comment! I’ll be glad to answer all of your questions to the best of my abilities. 🙂
The most difficult to write: 50 Random Facts about Me
The “50 facts about me” tag is very popular and well-known. When I saw a blogger do it, I decided to give this is a try. I thought coming up with 50 facts about myself would be a breeze but… BOY WAS I WRONG. The first 30 were quite easy. But coming up with the last 20 were one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
My all-time favorite: How to Hand In the Best Paper Ever
I have to admit that choosing my favorite post that I’ve ever written was hard. I’m a perfectionist, and I’m rarely satisfied with what I come up with. But this post is an exception. It’s one of the most in-depth posts I’ve ever written. If you want to learn how to edit your papers to hand in the best work ever, this post is for you. I haven’t found anything similar or more in-depth anywhere else online. This post also happens to walk hand-in-hand with my major (I’m a communications major with a minor in writing), so for once, my classes really helped me. 😉
The one I’m most proud of: The Ultimate Guide to Surviving Finals
I remember that when I wrote this post, I was so proud of it. I was so sure that this post would go viral and that it would be the post that would make me a “famous blogger”. HA! This post barely had any traction when it came out. Which, frankly, was a disappointment. I’d work so hard on this! But I’ve learned that the posts that go viral aren’t always the ones you would expect to. And sometimes, it takes a while for a post to finally go viral. Now, this post as over 1,000 repins on Pinterest. This may not be the post I’m most proud of anymore, but I remember feeling so proud of it when I first published it, which I haven’t felt about blog post often ever since.
The first: My Travel Wishlist
The title says it all. This is the blog post that started it all. I first started this blog with the intention of being a travel blogger — hence the name. My first blog post was written with this intention. This might not be the case now, but I still carry the dream of one day becoming a travel blogger. But for that, I need to travel. Who knows, it might happen sooner rather than later?
Up close and personal: Help! I’m Obsessed with Social Media!
I don’t write about myself very often around here. Even on my Instagram account, you’ll rarely find a picture of me. And it’s not because I’m trying to be secretive, but it’s just that I find it hard to open up. To tell people what I really think and how I really feel. But this winter, I was obsessing over something, and I knew I was not the only one who had ever felt this way. Being bloggers, social media is everything. But it should take control of your life like it had with me. So I decided to write this post in the hope that others could relate to it too.
Doing this little recap brought back so many memories! There are so many posts that I had just forgotten existed. It felt nice to go back to the beginning and remember how it all began. I may have already written 100 posts, but I’m hoping to write hundreds more!
My blogiversary is coming soon, so keep an eye out! I’ll be doing some fun things on the blog and over on social media to celebrate these amazing two years.
