What’s your name?
It’s Amélie. Not Amelia, not Emily or anything else that remotely resembles it. Amélie, just like the French movie with Audrey Tautou. I’m French Canadian, so I guess that explains why my name is so different and… French.
Do you accept guest posts?
Thanks for your interest, but at this time AWA is not accepting guest publications of any sort.
Do you want to join our affiliate program?
No, thank you – AWA is not joining any one-off affiliate programs at this time.
Can I send you an infographic to add to one of your blog posts?
While I really appreciate your interest, I will not add your infographic to any of my blog posts. However, if the topic feels relevant to my audience, I will happily repin it to one of my posts on Pinterest.
What’s the inspiration behind AWA?
A Wanderer’s Adventures started off as summer project the summer before I started college. My hours had been cut down at work, so I thought I could use a hobby to help pass the time, and a blog seemed like the perfect way to do so. I also wanted to explore my city and discover the area, and the idea for a travel blog started. However, it’s not until I started university that I really started to invest time and effort into this blog. If you want to learn more about me and my blog, check my “About” page!
What’s your degree in?
I’m studying Communications with a minor in Professional Writing at the Université de Sherbrooke.
What advice would you give to someone who’s interested in starting a blog?
Just get started. I think oftentimes, the main reasons why people won’t start their blog is because they’re afraid. Afraid of judgment, afraid of not having anything to say, afraid of failing… Trust me, I’ve been there. I’ve tried many times to start a blog, only to end up failing miserably. Why? Because I was afraid. So don’t think about it, and just start! It’ll become easier once you’ve made the first step, I promise. If you need more info about the nitty-gritty of blogging, make sure to check out this post! I explain how you can get started.
Can you review our __?
I’m honored that you want me to check out your product, but I don’t publish product reviews on AWA. However, if you’re looking for my honest opinion, I’d be happy to give it you in some other way! Send me an email and we’ll talk.
Will you promote our product/brand/business/service for free?
No. A lot of time and effort goes into writing a blog post. (You’d be surprised how many hours I spend on this computer creating kick-ass, valuable content for my audience!) If you were publicizing your product the “traditional” way (through ads in magazines or on TV, for example), you wouldn’t just ask them to promote it for free, right? (Or for the “exposure”.) You would pay to get publicity space on their platform because you know you would be able to reach your audience. Well, it’s the same for bloggers. I’ve spent YEARS developing a relationship with my audience, and I know what they like and what they want. Bloggers have the trust of a specific audience, which makes them influential. Blogging can be even more invaluable than “traditional” marketing because they have a direct relationship with their audience. So, bottom line, blogging is marketing. And no, I won’t work for free just because you don’t have it in your budget to pay bloggers.
